A breif etymology of the two terms:

Glaven: Originated in the Swedish death metal schene, where it was frequently exclaimed at particularly rocking shows, along with other variants "himus!" and "wohoiven!" From the celtic "glavus" meaning a particuarly flagrant act of sadistic violence.

Glorf: Came into usage in RG's room sophmore year to describe the constant state of surfaces in that room. Derived from prelinguisitc phonemes often accompanying production of glorf, particularly of the second, organic, kind.

that is a good start, mr. mcateer, but we must do more to describe the many intricacies of glaven. for example, it is interchangeable with flaven. flaven is everywhere: riboflavian, flavian amphitheatre, the flavian rebellion.

i just like it as an interjection.
